US wireless and network equipment provider Netgear has signed Miami-based IT products wholesaler Intcomex as its new distribution channel for Brazil, the former announced.
Bringing Intcomex on board will expand Netgear's reach in Latin America's biggest country, as Intcomex will be able to import Netgear's entire portfolio of products, to then be offered to its local network of resellers and distributors.
"Netgear's strategy is to invest in the national market to further strengthen our operations to make the channel more competitive," said Netgear's executive responsible for the retail segment, Ricardo Shimada, who highlighted the company's five-year presence in Brazil.
Netgear currently has more than 170 partnership agreements in Brazil. The company plans to capture a larger share of the country's corporate market this year, with the introduction of several products intended to expand and stabilize workplace wireless networks, Netgear's sales manager for Brazilian service providers, Eduardo Drummond, previously told BNamericas.
