Netgear signs partnership agreement with Handytech

US wireless and network equipment provider Netgear has signed a partnership agreement with Brazilian distributor Handytech, according to press reports.

With the agreement Netgear expects to increase its market penetration in Brazil, particularly in the retail and SME sectors in the northern and northeastern regions of the country.

"We'll have the opportunity to develop a closer relationship with local resellers, in addition to increase our sales force," Netgear's retail manager Ricardo Shimada was quoted as saying.

The agreement is part of Netgear's new channel partner program looking to expand the company's network.

Based in Salvador, capital of Bahia state, Handytech has partnership agreements with companies such as AMD, Asus, D-Link, HP, Intel, Norton, NEC, Kingston and Epson.
