The Mexican unit of Colombian wholesaler Nexsys has expanded its agreement with IBM (NYSE: IBM), allowing the former to distribute IBM's full portfolio of software solutions on a national level, local media outlet Infochannel reported.
Before the agreement, Nexsys was only allowed to sell the Tivoli line of products and solutions, said Alberto de Alba, Nexsys Mexico's IBM business unit director.
According to de Alba, Nexsys will use previous experience it has in marketing IBM's complete portfolio of solutions in other Latin American countries, such as Peru, Colombia and Venezuela, to promote the product in Mexico.
Last year, Nexsys' Mexican unit said it was looking to develop high-value channels in the west of the country through training and to increase recurring sales of high-demand brands such as Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC).
The western Mexico operation's strong growth is expected to drive overall country sales to match those of the Colombian office in the short term.
