Brazilian software development company TechPeople expects its new best practices certification to increase its overall contribution to parent company IT services group Nexxera's total revenues, from 3% to 15%, the latter said in a statement.
Local software promotion association Softex recently awarded TechPeople its level F Brazilian best practices in software (MPSBR) certification. The Nexxera Group is the only company in Santa Catarina state with that distinction.
"The revenue goal for 2011 with the projects already in progress is 4mn reais (US$2.38mn), and we intend to raise this number even more with this certification," said Nexxera IT director Rodrigo Clemente, adding the Softex seal of approval would help TechPeople win contracts beyond its southern region stronghold.
Nexxera specializes in IT solutions for the financial and mercantile sectors. With affiliates in Brazil's principal cities, the company recently opened subsidiaries in Colombia and the US.
