Israeli contact center solutions company NICE Systems (Nasdaq: NICE) is starting to see increasing demand from Latin America, company president and CEO Zeevi Bregman said in a conference call with investors.
"We are pleased to see an improvement in demand in markets such as Southeast Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Here we are now seeing a transition from the purchase of products to the purchase of business solutions.... This naturally leads to an increase in the number of large deals in these areas," Bregman said.
Meanwhile, company CFO Dafna Gruber said the Americas accounted for 61% of NICE's overall revenues in the quarter. "The Americas region continued to perform well. Revenues reached US$114mn in Q1, increasing 22% over Q1 of 2010," Gruber said.
The company's global net income in Q1 increased to US$8.1mn from US$6.1mn in the first quarter of 2010, the company said in a statement.
NICE's quarterly revenues totaled US$185mn, up 15.9% compared with US$160mn in the year-ago quarter.
In Latin America, NICE has an office in São Paulo. NICE covers the entire region through business partnerships with integrators and resellers.
