Oracle to buy InQuira

Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) has reached an agreement to acquire San Francisco-based knowledge management software provider InQuira, Oracle said in a statement without providing financial details of the deal.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.

InQuira, founded in 2002, has more 85 customers. It provides software to support web self-services and agent-assisted services.

The combination of Oracle and InQuira is expected to deliver a more comprehensive cross channel customer support offering, and strengthen Oracle's CRM portfolio.

InQuira's customers include Yahoo!, 3M, Eset, Bayer, Zebra Technologies, Sprint, Blue Coat, McAfee and Juniper Networks.
