Oracle's (Nasdaq: ORCL) Americas revenue surged 8.24% year-on-year in fiscal 1Q12, ended August 31, hitting US$4.23bn, the company announced in a release.
The Americas' new license revenues expanded 9% year-on-year in fiscal Q1, while hardware systems product revenues were down 13% in the same comparison, both on constant currency rates.
The company recorded global revenues of US$8.37bn during the quarter, up 12% compared to US$7.50bn in the same period last fiscal year, according to the release.
Global software revenues were up 17% to US$5.52bn, while hardware systems revenues were down 1% to US$1.67bn.
Oracle's global net income was up 36% to US$1.84bn in the first quarter.
