Oracle's (Nasdaq: ORCL) Americas revenue surged 1.8% year-on-year in fiscal 2Q12, ended November 30, hitting US$4.53bn, the company announced in a release.
New license revenues in the Americas expanded 1% year-on-year in fiscal Q2, while hardware systems product revenues were down 17% in the same comparison, both on constant currency rates.
The company recorded global revenues of US$8.79bn during the quarter, up 2% compared to US$8.58bn in the same period last fiscal year, according to the release.
Global software revenues were up 7% to US$6.03bn, while hardware systems revenues were down 10% to US$1.58bn.
Oracle's global net income was up 17% to US$2.19bn in the second quarter.
