Brazilian computer manufacturer Positivo Informatica is introducing to the domestic market this month devices with the second generation of US chip maker Intel's Core processors, the company said in a statement.
Positivo is launching two desktops with the new platform: Positivo Plus Elite 9310 with an i5 2300 processor and the Positivo Plus Elite 10380 with the i7 2600. The Curitiba-based computer maker also will offer a laptop, the Positivo Premium Essential 9000, with the new i7 2630QM processor.
The new processors will bring more speed, enhanced video performance capacity and greater energy efficiency to its machines, Positivo said. Consumer demand for better high-definition video, 3D graphics, gaming solutions and social networking capabilities, among other aspects, motivated the move. Positivo set the suggested prices for the computers at 2,799 reais (US$1,658) for the 9310 desktop and 3,499 reais for the 10380 desktop and 9000 laptop.
