Chilean systems integrator Adexus has received SAP's cloud service provider certification, the former said in a statement.

According to Adexus, the certification took three months. This is the second SAP certification that Adexus has achieved. Last year, SAP approved the firm as a hosting partner.

Mexican IT and telecoms association Canieti's head, Santiago Gutiérrez, has been appointed as World Information Technology and Services Alliance (Witsa) executive president, Canieti announced in a release.

Witsa is a global ICT industry consortium comprising 80 associations representing some 90% of the world's ICT market.

Gutiérrez will be ahead of Witsa until end-2012.


Roberto Ricossa has been named enterprise communications, software and services provider Avaya's new marketing and channels manager for the Americas, the company said in a release.

According to Avaya, Ricossa's tasks will include introducing regional programs aimed at channel distribution and setting up a coordination office to promote business relations with partners and clients in the region.


Argentina's Buenos Aires provincial senate has passed a bill regulating the disposal of electronic waste, the local government announced in its website.

The bill regulates the reutilization and recycling of such waste to ensure that it does not end up in landfills.
