Latin American IT products distributor Aktio has appointed Maximiliano Minetti as administration and finance manager, the company said in a release.

Minetti previously worked for Grupo Estrella and Laboratorio Inmunolab.

The executive holds a degree in business administration from Argentina's Universidad de Morón and an MBA from Universidad del Salvador.

US software provider Attachmate has appointed Luis Andrés Hernández as sales director for Latin America, the firm said in a statement.

With more than 20 years of experience, Hernández holds a degree in IT from Mexico's Universidad Anáhuac.

The executive previously worked for Microsoft and NCR Corporation.


The Argentine unit of Spanish administration software provider Grupo Softland has added new clients in the textile segment, the firm said in a statement.

New clients include Varent, Texameri, Curtiembre Arlei and Cladd.

Softland Argentina has more than 500 large and medium-sized clients, such as Electrolux Argentina and River Plate athletic club.

Grupo Softland has a presence throughout Latin America, with subsidiaries in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama and the Dominican Republic, representing 25,000 active clients.


US software firm Novell has appointed Sandra Álvarez as commercial director for Chile, Novell said in a statement.

Álvarez previously worked for Unisys and Entel.
