Enterprise communications, software and services provider Avaya has appointed Nelson Campelo as president of its Brazilian subsidiary, the company said in a statement.

The executive will oversee operations in Brazil and will report to Avaya's VP for the Americas international region, John DiLullo.

With more than 20 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications sectors, Campelo has a degree in civil engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. He has previously worked for Nokia Siemens Networks, IBM Brasil and CPM.

US structured cabling provider Panduit and its business partners Cisco, Emerson Network Power, Fluke, Absa Communications, Anixter, Grupo Dice and Luguer are holding the 10th edition of global system integrators conference GSIC 2011, Panduit said in a statement.

The event will take place October 26 in Cancún, Mexico.

The conference will focus on virtualization and cloud computing, featuring specialists in areas such as mass virtualization, chromatic dispersion in integration, POD topologies, unified fabric and other issues related to virtualization.


Mexican mission-critical services provider Kio Networks is organizing the first Kloud Camp to gather professionals, developers and IT managers, the company said in a statement.

The meeting, called "Demystifying cloud computing and its adoption strategies," will be held October 20 in Mexico.

The event aims to learn from observations and experiences, the present reality and future of cloud computing. Experts will present the best strategies for cloud adoption and migration.


Brazilian consulting and IT outsourcing firm MSDevelop has been certified in Oracle Exadata technology, becoming the only Oracle partner in Latin America to achieve six certifications, MSDevelop said in a release.

Oracle Exadata is an integrated hardware and software solution that offers high performance for environments with mixed IT applications. It includes servers, storage, a network and software optimized for high performance and security.

MSDevelop is an Oracle Platinum Partner. In 2010, the company achieved CMMI 2.
