Brazilian IT services firm CPM Braxis Capgemini, a unit of Grupo Capgemini, has been selected among the group's global subsidiaries to provide the monitoring and administration of Capgemini United Kingdom's IT infrastructure, the former said in a release.
CPM Braxis affirms that it won the project because of its expertise in providing remote infrastructure management outsourcing (RIMO), available in Brazil since 2008. The services will be provided for three years.
The migration of the British unit's systems to the company in Brazil is said to be part of Capgemini's business strategy to optimize outsourcing values within the group.
The Argentinian unit of Latin American IT products distributor Aktio has added IT solutions firm Inside Technologies to its business partners network, the former announced in a statement.
The alliance will enable Aktio to expand its solutions portfolio in the country and increase its distribution channels.
Inside Technologies is certified to provide IBM products within the hardware segment, such as System x, Power and RSS, as well as Oracle infrastructure solutions.
Marco Stefanini, head of Brazilian IT solutions firm Stefanini, has been picked as one of the most influential people in nearshore outsourcing in the world, the firm said in a statement.
The "Nearshore Americas Power 50" survey was carried out by Nearshore Americas portal to analyze the executives of the area that most influenced the growth of this segment in 2011.
Stefanini occupies seventh place and is the best placed Brazilian executive on the list.
Argentina's capital Buenos Aires will host on November 29 "HostingDay 2011," a conference on cloud computing and hosting, local news source Canal AR reported.
The symposium's discussions will be focused on how to use hosting to streamline productivity for business, and address software in the cloud and information security, among other topics.
The event is being organized by NXnet and will be held at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE).
