Paraguay's lower house expects to study a bill to set the general regulations of e-commerce activity in the country, the body said in a statement.

The lower house's science and technology committee met last week with representatives of the e-commerce sector to define the draft bill.

The committee expects the final version of the draft bill to be ready in some two weeks.

US firm NDS has renewed its agreement with DirecTV to continue to deliver set-top box (STB) software and digital video recorder (DVR) technology to DirecTV US and DirecTV Latin America through January 2016, the former said in a statement.

The contract extends a relationship between NDS and DirecTV that was originally established in 2005.

NDS provides technologies and applications that enable pay-TV operators to deliver digital content to TV STBs, DVRs, PCs, mobiles and other multimedia devices.


Sonda IT - the Brazilian branch of Chilean IT systems integrator Sonda - has received the SAP award of excellence, the company said in a statement.

This is the ninth time that the IT firm has received the award from German software giant SAP (NYSE: SAP).

Founded in 1974, Sonda has operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. The firm has a regional client base of 2,400 companies.


Brazilian company Paviservice has implemented a SAP All-in-One preconfigured solution for the engineering and construction segment, Brazilian IT integrated service provider Sonda Procwork said in a statement.

The solution was developed by Sonda Procwork's business architecture team.

Sonda Procwork is part of the Sonda IT group, which in turn is controlled by Chilean IT company Sonda.
