Brazilian IT firm Gralha Azul Distribuição has signed an agreement with the local unit of data storage technology company Verbatim to become the latter's distributor in the domestic market, Gralha Azul said in a statement

Gralha Azul has offices in Londrina and Curitiba, in Paraná state.

Verbatim offers data storage technology, as well as a range of products in the field of portable USB drives, flash memory cards, SSD and external hard drives in 2.5-inch portable and 3.5-inch desktop format, and various computer accessories.

Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) has appointed Alejandro Raffaele as marketing director for Latin America, the company said in a statement.

Raffaele previously worked for the Argentine subsidiaries of Sonda and Sun Microsystems.

The executive holds a degree in electronic engineering from Argentina's Universidad Tecnológica Nacional.


Chile's navy has selected Australian provider of software and services for asset-intensive industries Mincom's Ellipse 8 solution, Mincom said in a statement.

Mincom Ellipse 8 is a solution for enterprise work and asset management that enhances asset performance and workforce productivity. As part of the agreement, the navy will also implement the finance module of Mincom Ellipse, providing the agency with comprehensive financial-management capabilities.


Miami-based Onyx Tech Distribution, a distributor of core IP products and computer accessories, has signed an agreement to become an authorized Digium distributor for Latin America and Caribbean, the former said in a statement.

Digium is the creator of Asterisk, an open source telephony software. The company's product lines include a range of hardware and software to enable resellers and businesses to implement custom solutions or to design their own voice over IP systems.
