Indian IT and BPO services provider Hexaware Technologies has opened an HP (NYSE: HPQ) software lab in Mexico, the company said in a release.

The facility is located in the town of Saltillo, and will provide services such as performance validation, application security and quality assurance.

Hexaware has an existing delivery center, also located in Saltillo.

US contact center solution provider Empirix and compatriot contact center platform provider Aspect Software have teamed up in Mexico, the companies said in a joint statement.

Both firms are focusing on contact centers with more than 500 positions. Target vertical markets include the financial, retail and service sectors.


US e-commerce service provider asknet has incorporated credit transfer service Boleto Bancário for clients in Brazil, asknet said in a release.

Boleto Bancário will facilitate online payments made without credit cards. The service currently accounts for 20% of all online transactions made in that country.

Open source software organization Comunidad de Software Libre en Latinoamérica will host the Latin American open source software installation festival (FLISoL), the organization said on its website.

The festival will feature speeches on open source software development and benefits.

The event will take place in 19 Latin American countries simultaneously on April 9.
