German specialty chemicals company Lanxess has signed a three-year contract with Latin America IT consulting firm Neoris for the provision of support and maintenance services of its microcomputing and servers environment, the companies said in a joint statement.
Under the agreement, Neoris will support about 1,000 Lanxess users, located at eight facilities in Brazil, including factories, laboratories and commercial offices. The price of the service was not reported.
Some of the Neoris' consultants will work at the company's nearshore centers in Barueri, São Paulo state, and others will be assigned to Lanxess' headquarters in São Paulo city.
US healthcare technology solutions provider eCareSoft has chosen e-Meds Healthcare Information Solutions as its new channel partner for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the companies said in a release.
E-Meds will represent eCareSoft's integrated clinical, financial and electronic health records (EHR) technology for hospitals.
ECareSoft is the US affiliate of Expert Sistemas Computacionales, a distributor of EHR and hospital information systems (HIS) in Mexico with some 40% market share.
UK IT services firm Logica has hired Alba Scheible as quality manager for South America, the company said in a statement.
The executive will be in charge of implementing quality policies and standards for the company's operations in South America to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
With more than 10 years of experience in the industry, Scheible has a PhD and an MBA from Brazil's Universidade Federal da Bahia, with a specialization in IT.
US storage solutions supplier EMC (NYSE: EMC) has appointed Alfredo Taborga as marketing director for Latin America, the company said in a release.
The executive, previously marketing manager for Mexico, will be in charge of the company's direct sales and channel teams for Latin America.
With more than eight years of experience in sales, marketing and communications, Taborga has previously worked for Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), CA Technologies (NYSE: CA) and Storagetek.
Taborga has a bachelor's in administration and international business from Mexico's Universidad Panamericana, and a graduate degree in business and competitive strategy from Universidad Iberoamericana.
