The South American division of UK systems integrator Logica (LSE: LOG; Euronext: LOG) has named Valter Medina as business applications architect, the company said in a release.

Medina's IT experience includes stints in Alexander Proudfoot Consulting, Thomas International do Brasil, EDS and Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU).

The executive holds a psychology degree from Brazil's Universidade Metodista de São Paulo (UMESP) and a philosophy degree from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).

The Chilean division of Spanish data management solutions provider PowerData has appointed Álvaro Moncada as country manager, the company said in a statement.

Moncada most recently served as PowerData's commercial director for Chile, and has also worked in Cecinas San Jorge, Metrópolis and the education ministry.


Chilean IT firm Informat has tapped Claudia Castillo as general manager, according to a company statement.

Castillo obtained a degree in commercial engineering from Chile's Universidad Católica, and also a graduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

The executive has served on Informat's board of directors since 1999, and has also accumulated tech experience in companies such as Latin American internet service provider Terra Networks and SKY Chile, which later became DirecTV.


The Argentine division of IBM (NYSE: IBM) has named Jorge Goulu as general manager, local newspaper La Nación reported.

Goulu has worked in IBM since 1987, and has held posts such as channels director for South America and Latin America and sales manager for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
