Argentina's Universidad Austral has invested US$1.2mn to integrate its systems with SAP's (NYSE: SAP) ERP 6.0 application, according to a statement from SAP and its partner, Latin American IT consulting firm Neoris, which was in charge of the nine-month implementation.

Universidad Austral - including its Hospital Universitario Austral, management and business school IAE, Parque Austral, and its prepaid health service Austral Salud - was looking for a solution to standardize the management of its two areas of focus, education and health.

Neoris implemented SAP's financials & controlling (FICO), materials management (MM) and sales & distribution (SD) modules.

Peruvian supermarket chain Supermercados Peruanos has implemented US IT firm LogFire's cloud-based warehouse management system (WMS) in its new distribution center, located in the southern area of Lima, the companies said in a statement.

The implementation, which took four months, included redesigning logistical processes and integrating with the existing SAP ERP application.

The process also involved deploying LogFire's WMS for tablets, to improve efficiency and productivity.


Latin American consultancy and systems integrator Grupo Assa has appointed Miguel Robles as regional director of delivery platform, the company said in a statement.

With more than 25 years experience in IT, Robles is responsible for the platform of Grupo Assa's delivery centers, with 54,000 end users in over 30 countries.

He will also be responsible for the software factory and the administration of components developed by the company.


Franco-Dutch IT firm Atos (formerly Atos Origin) is working with Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) to deliver test and acceptance management (TAM) services for Oracle Fusion technology, the companies said in a statement.

The solution combines Atos' end-to-end traceability based on business process, functional test case management and Oracle's technology.

Available globally, this new solution offers customers in all industries a way to manage their testing requirements. This enables them to deploy their IT projects, from development phase to production.
