Brazilian IT company PC Sistemas has opened an office in the city of Recife, the company said in a statement.

Through this new office, the firm will support operations in the north of the country. In Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Paraíba and Salvador states, PC Sistemas has some 150 clients.

The firm also expects to open an office in Porto Alegre in June, adding to the current six offices across the country.

US business software solutions provider Epicor (Nasdaq: EPIC) has appointed Pervez Qureshi as president and CEO, Epicor said in a statement.

Qureshi previously worked for Activant Solutions as its president and CEO. Activant was acquired by Epicor in an operation completed May 16.


US software company Attachmate Group has appointed Edwin Bowman as manager for Latin America, the company said in a release.

The Attachmate Group's principal holdings include Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE.


Uruguayan IT firm Essentia has become a member of local IT chamber Cuti, the latter said in a statement.

The firm, which was founded in 2009, focuses on IT consulting.

Cuti currently has more than 300 member companies.
