Brazil's navy has selected UK provider of technology-based services and solutions for the defense, security and related markets QinetiQ's Paramarine advanced marine design software, the latter said in a statement.

With this solution, the navy will support design work on a fleet of new Brazilian submarines.

Paramarine is used by five of the top submarine builders in the world for design and analysis.

French firm 3S - which makes chips, optical discrete modules and passive components for the laser, sensing and telecoms markets - has signed an agreement with Boreal Communications, the former said in a statement.

Under the agreement, Boreal Communications will serve as 3S's sales representative in South America - particularly in the Brazilian market. Boreal will provide sales and support services, enabling continued distribution of 3S products in this region.

Boreal Communications was founded in 1997 in California, with offices in the cities Campinas and São José dos Campos, both located in Brazil's São Paulo state.


US company NetSol Technologies (Nasdaq: NTWK), a provider of global business services and enterprise application solutions to private and public sector organizations, expects to expand into Latin America, the company said in a statement.

"We plan to extend our footprint into Latin America, which is demonstrating great IT market potential, as we envision exciting new opportunities for our core flagship NFS platform," company CEO Najeeb Ghauri said.

Headquartered in Calabasas, California, NetSol Technologies has operations and offices in Adelaide, Bangkok, Beijing, Karachi, Lahore, London and Riyadh.


Chilean IT firm In Motion has appointed Iván Díaz as manager for its support division, the company said in a release.

In Motion is a systems integrator founded 16 years ago. The company has some 100 corporate clients.

Headquartered in Chilean capital Santiago, the firm also has offices in Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica and the US.
