Peruvian integrated logistics services provider Ransa Comercial has chosen supply chain software provider Softeon's solution suite as its enterprise framework for providing logistics services, the companies said in a statement.

The solution will be implemented for two of Ransa's core verticals - consumer goods in Lima and supermarket operations in Quito.

"The Softeon solution provides real-time visibility across operations for clients in different regions - Peru and Ecuador, and in the near future, other regions in South and Central America as more clients are brought on board," said Ransa CEO Emilio Fantozzi Temple.

Gartner's 14th annual Future of IT conference will be held October 4-6 in Mexico City.

One of the conference sponsors, US business intelligence (BI) software producer MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR), will participate in the event, focusing on the new market trends and the company's solutions for mobility, cloud intelligence, business intelligence and social intelligence.


Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) has entered into an agreement to acquire Washington-based GoAhead Software, the former said in a statement without disclosing the financial details of the deal.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close before year-end. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently.

GoAhead Software focuses on developing and delivering packaged service availability software for the communications industry.


Brazilian software and IT services provider Elucid has launched a new edition of its Elucid Academy recruitment program, the company said in a statement.

Looking to train skilled professionals and discover talents, Elucid's program - created in 2010 - has selected 23 trainees from several teaching institutions of São Paulo who are studying electrical engineering, electronics, systems analysis and information systems.

The program includes conceptual lessons, operational training, and practical activities.
