US Linux operating systems provider Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) has appointed Javier Haltrecht as marketing manager for South of Latin America (SOLA) and the Andean region, the company said in a statement.

Haltrecht has previously worked for Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Burson-Marsteller in Argentina. With more than 20 years of experience in the communications and marketing fields, the executive has degree in public relations from Argentina's UADE and a graduate degree in business from UCA.

HP (NYSE:HPQ) Enterprise has launched its social media initiatives in Spanish for Latin America, the company said in a statement.

The company launched @HPEnterpriseMX for Mexico and @HPEnterpriseAR for Argentina as new Twitter channels to serve its Spanish-speaking clients.

Through these channels, HP will provide new developments, necessary information and advice.


Argentine business incubator program NXTP Labs is holding its first commercial mission to New York, Washington and Miami between November 8 and November 18, Buenos Aires-based accelerator seed fund Nextperience Labs said in a statement.

As part of the commercial mission, NXTP Labs representatives will participate in several IT conferences, events and networking opportunities, such as Adtech, Endeavor and the Americas Venture Capital Conference.


Chilean IT services and support company IT Co is holding an IT security seminar in capital Santiago on November 24, the company said in a statement.

The event will address issues such as social engineering attacks, botnets, exploits, cross-site scripting, wireless security, phishing, development of safe applications and the design of safe networks.
