SAP (NYSE: SAP) has held meetings with consumer goods clients in Latin America, the company said in a statement.

SAP executives gave presentations on the latest technological innovations and held talks on client needs at the annual SAP Consumer Products Advisory Council (CPAC), which was held this year in Mexico.

Latin American clients in attendance include Venezuelan beer manufacturer Cerveceria Polar and Brazilian poultry and processed food producer Brasil Foods.

US treasury and capital markets software provider Financial Software Systems has opened an implementation and support office in Ecuador, the company said in a statement.

The facility, located in Guayaquil, will be headed by Bojan Baros, who has worked at Financial Software Systems for more than 10 years.

Financial Software Systems has implementations in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Peru.


Brazilian industrial automation software producer Elipse plans to showcase its Elipse Power solution at the upcoming Distributech 2011 event, the company said in a statement.

Elipse Power monitors electricity distribution, as well as energy substations and transmission networks.

Distributech 2011 will take place February 1-3 in San Diego, California.


HP (NYSE: HPQ) has tapped Hector Arrillaga as head of managed enterprise services in Latin America, online news source CIO Peru reported.

Arrillaga has more than 25 years of experience at HP, and most recently led the company's imaging and printing group in Latin America.
