Roundup: Vatican startup accelerator; Trend Micro-OAS, NICE Systems
The Vatican City has launched a startup accelerator called Scholas.labs to fund innovative digital projects in the educational segment.
The initiative is sponsored by Google, Microsoft and Telecom Argentina, among others. In the first phase, 10 projects will be selected for funding with a four-month acceleration process.
The accelerator is one of the developments of Scholas Ocurrentes, a non-profit international network started by Pope Francis when he was Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio in Buenos Aires to promote social inclusion through technology, arts and sports.

Japanese security solutions provider Trend Micro launched a survey in partnership with the cybersecurity program of the Organization of American States (OAS) to collect information on digital threats and how to fight them, Trend Micro said in a release.
The survey is open to IT and security leaders of companies in the Americas at this website until February 16.
The findings will be used for a broad study aimed at helping OAS member states, telecoms operators and other stakeholders across the region to better understand and address the main cyber threats to critical infrastructure in the Americas.
