UK-based IT distributor VIP Computers has opened an office in Miami to support operations in Latin America, the company said in a release.

VIP Computers operates as an independent distributor of components, peripherals and consumer products.

The company also has offices in Spain, the Netherlands, Romania, Taiwan and the Middle East.

Distree Events is expanding into the Latin American market in 2011, driven by demand from ICT and consumer electronics vendors for a regional channel development platform, the company said.

The first Distree event in Latin America will take place in Brazil from September 13-15, uniting vendors with distributors, resellers and retailers from across the continent.

The company already operates events covering Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.


Taiwanese PC components manufacturer MSI Computer has launched a video card fully produced in Brazil, the company said in a statement.

The new video card includes a graphics processing unit (GPU).

MSI, which launched operations in Brazil in 2004, has presence in 25 countries.


The Brazilian unit of Chilean IT systems integrator Sonda has launched e-learning courses for clients, the company said in a statement.

The courses are offered through the company's subsidiary Sonda Software.

In Brazil, Sonda has 31 offices and some 1,200 active clients.
