The Mexican division of California-based virtualization software company VMware (NYSE: VMW) has teamed up with Latin American software wholesaler LicenciasOnLine (LOL) to launch the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), the former said in a statement.

VSPP allows service and hosting providers to offer virtualization-enabled solutions, applications and services to their clients.

Within Latin America, VSPP has already been rolled out in Chile, Argentina and Colombia.

More than 20 Spanish companies from segments such as ICT will carry out a trade mission to Chile, the Chile-Spain chamber of commerce Camacoes said in a release.

The trip will take place March 28-29, during which time the Spanish companies will meet with interested business partners in Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción.

The trade mission will also include firms in the construction, architecture, electronics and machinery markets.


Chilean integrator Grupo In Motion has named Fernando Benavides as its education division manager, the company said in a statement.

Benavides most recently served as the education division's commercial manager.

The executive holds a degree in commercial engineering from Chile's Universidad Finis Terrae.


The Jamaican and Indian governments have certified 154 people in a joint ICT program, the former said in a statement.

The students are the second group that has graduated from the program, which lasts two years.
