Brazilian software development group Senior Sistemas will unite its five companies into a single entity, Senior SA, the company said in a statement.
Senior specializes in business management software, having billed some 380mn reais (US$225mn) in 2010, 20% better than the prior year. The company intends to realize better integration and synergies with the restructuring.
The five Senior enterprises were broken into branches for the corporate, tourism, security, research and IT services sectors - Senior Sistemas Corporativos, Senior Sistemas em Turismo, Senior Sistemas Seguranca, Senior Pesquisa e Tecnologia, and Senior Servicos em Tecnologia de Informatica, respectively. All units underwent an integration and alignment process prior to the announcement of their unification, which was set in motion in 2008.
Senior also announced an addition to its governing body in 2011. A group of in-house and outside advisors will help map the firm's strategies and priorities.
Founded in 1988, Senior maintains a headquarters in Santa Catarina state with an affiliate in Sao Paulo and operations in other municipalities around the country. Senior counts more than 600 full-time employees and some 9,500 clients in Brazil.
