Brazilian telecom operator Junto Telecom has tapped US IT firm Silver Peak to improve its data transmission between São Paulo and its home state of Pará, Silver Peak announced in a statement.
Using Silver Peak's networking solutions, Junto Telecom was able to double traffic throughput on its backbone link, 5,000km away in São Paulo.
Silver Peak's VP of sales for Latin America, Francisco Pinto, said the technology could accommodate operators looking to add VoIP telephone or IP video services. Junto Telecom provides fixed, mobile and data services to users in northern Brazil.
