US firm SmartMetric has completed engineering specialized machinery to be installed at its Argentine manufacturing facility, the company said in a statement.
"We are assembling what will be the most advanced manufacturing facility for credit cards, ID cards and health insurance cards in the world," company CEO Colin Hendrick said.
"SmartMetric has had to special engineer their lamination production machinery that would meet the company's high volume production targets, as well as use low heat, low pressure methods that would not destroy its sophisticated encased electronics," the executive added.
The company expects the machinery to be delivered in early 2012, giving it the manufacturing capacity to begin selling its in-card fingerprint scanning biometric cards for the banking, security and health sectors, SmartMetric said.
