Software developer Sofit has expanded operations to Colombia through a partnership agreement with local integrator Tesis, online news source Computer World reported.
Under the agreement, Tesis will sell and implement Sofit's fleet management and maintenance solution Sofit 4Transport in Colombia.
Sofit chose Colombia since it is among the five largest Latin American economies, company CEO Giovani Amaral was quoted as saying. "In addition, the number of competitors is still low, which increases our opportunities in the short term. We also have to consider the fact that our products are now available in Spanish."
"Over 20,000 transport companies operate in the country, and since it is a mountainous region, vehicle maintenance is a constant demand," Tesis director Alfredo Althviz said.
Sofit provides online platforms (software as a service) for fleet maintenance management with a partner network covering Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru and El Salvador.
