The solution allows a backup in case the Exchange server does not work, so users will have copies of all their e-mails in Google Apps. Users will also be able to synchronize work done in Google Apps with the Exchange server once it starts operating again.
Google's tool has been designed for companies currently using Microsoft Exchange that do not want to migrate their entire platforms to the cloud, but that also have business continuity issues when their email servers break down.
"Business continuity is a solution that offers continuity for the email service. The product stores the information in the cloud, saving the Exchange email accounts through Google's applications," said Orión general manager Andrés Cargill.
