US security solutions provider Sourcefire (Nasdaq: FIRE) is planning to invest US$1mn in Latin America next year to expand operations in the region, online news source Computer World reported.
Half of the investment will be spent in Brazil, which represents about 50-70% of the company's business in the region. Sourcefire also has operations in Mexico, while the rest of the region is served from its office in Miami.
The company opened offices in Brazil last year to have a closer relationship with customers, who until then had been served by local IT distributor CLM.
Sourcefire has two offices in Brazil, in São Paulo and Brasília, to support its network of more than 50 partners.
The investment in Brazil will allow the company to fund a training program for specialists in security technology.
