Brazilian IT solutions firm Stefanini has bolstered its international acquisition agenda with the purchase of two companies, Stefanini announced in a statement.
Stefanini bought US IT services provider CXI and Colombian IT development firm Informática & Tecnología. In December 2010, Stefanini made its first overseas acquisition when the company added US IT outsourcer TechTeam.
CEO Marco Stefanini said the CXI acquisition was motivated by a desire to increase its applications portfolio and reinforce its partnership with large software providers like SAP, particularly in the US market.
Informática & Tecnología, meanwhile, reinforces Stefanini's presence in Latin America, the company said. The Colombian firm specializes in the development of Microsoft's Sharepoint platform, as well as its own retail and logistics solutions.
Stefanini opened a Colombian affiliate in 2001. The country's proximity to Peru, widely accepted form of Spanish and qualified IT workforce give Colombia one of the best growth outlooks in the region, according to the Brazilian firm.
With its new unit, Stefanini expects to register US$8mn in revenues from Colombia this year. The company did not offer similar projections for other regions.
