IBM (NYSE: IBM) Chile has reached an agreement with employees, averting a strike planned for July 14, the company said in a statement.
"IBM engaged in a collective bargaining discussion with employees. A mutual agreement was reached to the satisfaction of both parties," the statement read.
As recently reported, IBM had been asking select global delivery framework (GDF) workers from out of the country to go to Chile in case the strike, announced by local union workers, went ahead.
In addition to this action in Chile, union workers at IBM Argentina have called a "peaceful strike" for July 28, after unsuccessful dialogue with the company regarding salary raises, the union said.
IBM has not released any statement regarding the possible Argentine strike.
