Ecuadorian carrier Telconet is investing US$14mn in a project to develop two Tier-4 data centers in the country, company commercial manager Francisco Villacreses told BNamericas.
Villacreses said that the two datacenters, which will be located in capital Quito and in Guayaquil, will be concluded in September this year.
The executive said that through these new data centers, Telconet will offer housing and cloud services to companies across Latin American markets including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
Telconet's data centers will have interconnection with the NAP of the Americas, located in Miami, with high-speed connections.
The company has an 8,000km fiber optic network that links over 110 towns and cities.
