Brazilian federal telecom holding company Telebrás has opened a bidding process to select a company for IT maintenance, local press reported.
The selected company will focus on maintenance of IT systems developed in programming languages Cobol and Natural, as well as database system Adabas, according to reports.
All companies registered in local unified providers system Sicaf will be able to participate in the process, said Telebrás, and the contract will go to the lowest bidder.
The winning company is expected to be selected on July 1.
Telebrás is in charge of the country's national broadband program, dubbed PNBL.
