The company aims to select up to 20 companies. The industries association of Minas Gerais state, FIEMG, will be in charge of the selection process and monitoring and development of activities.

According to Votorantim Metais, the first phase of the initiative will focus on solutions for the fields of nanotechnology and renewable energies.

The selection process will involve three steps. After the submission of applications, 20 selected start-ups will go through a period of immersion in the company's production processes and receive support to present the final project.

The 10 best projects will be selected by an examining bank. The winners can become suppliers of the company or receive investment to develop their projects. The program also offers the possibility of working for other companies in the Votorantim conglomerate, the company said.
