US web filtering and desktop security software manufacturer Websense (Nasdaq: WBSN) expects business to grow 25% this year in Latin America, the company's VP for Latin America and the Caribbean, Adauto de Mello Junior, told BNamericas, basing his outlook on previous results but without providing hard numbers.
"As we are listed on the stock market, we are unable to disclose information by region, but I can tell you about growth. We expect to keep growing in double digits [in the region], at about 25% per year. During the last year and after the [international financial] crisis, the company has been growing at about 25-30% per year, which is why we can project 25% growth for 2011," de Mello Junior said.
Websense's vertical market focus includes the financial sector, with a focus in data protection, as well as the industry, oil and gas, and government sectors. "But everyone who uses the internet is a potential client," de Mello Junior said.
Brazil and Mexico represent the company's largest Latin American markets in terms of volume, but the most significant growth has come from Chile, Colombia, Peru and now Costa Rica.
Websense's offering includes unified internet, data and e-mail content security solutions.
