Banco de Bogotá launches mobile banking service

Colombian bank Banco de Bogotá has launched a mobile banking service for its clients to make payments, transfers and requests for information, among other services.

Starting June 10, all clients can subscribe to the new service through the bank's web site, local paper La República reported.

Colombian mobile operators include Comcel, a unit of Mexico's América Móvil (NYSE: AMX), Movistar, of Spain's Telefónica (NYSE: TEF) and Tigo, owned by Luxembourg's Millicom International Cellular (Nasdaq: MICC).
