Telecom Argentina net profit rises 14.6% in 2014
Telecom Argentina posted 3.73bn pesos (US$ 430mn) in net profit in 2014, a 14.6% increase. Meanwhile, revenues reached some 33.34bn pesos, up 22.2%.
The number of mobile subscribers fell 2% to 22mn. Subscribers for the Telecom Personal unit in Argentina slipped 2.5% to 19.6mn, while Nucleo Paraguay saw 2.5% growth rate to 2.4mn subscribers.
Despite the drop in mobile subscribers and fall in net profits, Arpu in Argentina rose 11.1% to 74.2 pesos. The company underscored the commercial launch of 4G.
Data revenues reached 1.47bn pesos. During 4Q Telecom incorporated into its Nube Argentina cloud portfolio the Central Virtual Cloud (virtual cloud switch), a fixed service developed under the OTT modality that integrates all the services of a corporate central switch voice over IP and which can be accessed through mobile devices.
