Televisa VP murdered in Mexico
Adolfo Lagos, Televisa VP and CEO of the group's telecom service provider Izzi, was killed by armed gunmen while bike riding on a Mexico state highway in what may have been an attempted robbery.
According to a statement from the local prosecutors' office, Lagos was attacked while riding on the Tulancingo-Pirámides highway on the outskirts of the capital. Local media reports say the executive was shot while riding with a friend and a bodyguard. An ambulance took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
President Enrique Peña Nieto said Mexico's attorney general's office would work with the local authorities to detain the suspects and solve the case.
Lagos, who was 69 and a technology expert, had joined Televisa four years ago after stints in banks Bancomer and Santander.
