Puerto Rico's water utility AAA will hold an industrial outreach conference to present the Valenciano reservoir and potable water project to possible investors on June 2, the firm's planning director Mauricio Olaya told BNamericas.
AAA is currently preparing tender documents for the project, Olaya added via email.
The initiative, which will require investment of some US$250mn, involves building a reservoir with capacity to store 12.8Mm3, a potable water plant in Juncos city to produce 83,300m3/d, as well as eight storage tanks and seven pumping stations.
The project also includes a 71.5km-distribution system for cities Juncos, Las Piedras and San Lorenzo.
AAA will award a tender to expand the Aguas Buenas-Caguas sewer system in central Caguas municipality in the next few weeks, Olaya said.
The US$8.8mn project involves installing a main 13km sewerage pipeline and secondary lines.
Work is scheduled to take 12 months and includes eliminating pumping stations and connecting the new system to the existing sewage network.
Funding will be provided by the US Environmental Protection Agency's clean water revolving fund, BNamericas reported previously.
