Peru's national water utility ANA has approved the creation of a multi-sector committee to carry out the first stage of the government's nationwide water resources plan (PNHR).
The group will include ANA head Carlos Pagador and representatives from the agriculture, environment, mining and energy, housing, construction and sanitation, and economy and finance ministries.
The head of each ministry must now select a representative for the committee, state news agency Andina reported.
The group will be responsible for drawing up reports and recommendations for ANA, preparing the first stage of PNHR, and improving cohesion between the public sector and other participating entities.
The national water resources plan aims to determine the costs and financing, seek out relevant information and apply the necessary mechanisms to improve water resource management nationwide. The project has received financial support from IDB.
