ANA sets up Chancay-Lambayeque water management committee

Peru's national water authority ANA has set up a committee to regulate water management in the Chancay-Lambayeque river basin, state news agency Andina reported.

The committee is the first of its kind in the country, and will promote modern management and the participation of all parties invested in the basin, according to ANA head Javier Carrasco.

The committee is part of a US$43mn program financed by the World Bank and IDB to modernize water resource management in Peru.
