El Salvador's national water and sewerage authority Anda announced it has received 147 bids for potable water and sanitation projects worth US$30mn.
Of the 31 projects tendered, 10 will be financed through a US$12.7mn loan from Spanish international cooperation agency AECID. Eight of these, totaling US$9mn, will be carried out in Santa Ana department, the utility said in a release.
Projects in departments Usutlán, San Salvador, La Unión and San Miguel, as well as initiatives in Santa Ana not covered by the AEICD loan, will be financed by the national government.
Anda is slated to award the tenders on August 18.
The initiatives are expected to benefit 2mn people.
