Colombia's Atlántico department has earmarked 20bn pesos (US$11.2mn) to rebuild irrigation systems in southern areas, which were damaged by heavy winter rains in the past six months.
The local government will also provide machinery, seeds and agriculture equipment for the town of Suan, which was flooded by rising water from the local reservoir, paper El Heraldo reported.
In addition, Atlántico has provided clothing, tools, food and more to local residents lacking these supplies following the severe rains.
Colombia has experienced its worst winter in decades, with the La Niña phenomenon causing widespread damage to homes and infrastructure.
