Chile's mining minister Hernán de Solminihac and Australia's energy and natural resources minister Martin Ferguson will meet this week in Melbourne to sign a cooperation agreement, the former's mining ministry said in a release.
The agreement will facilitate investment opportunities between the nations, as well as strengthening commercial relations between suppliers and promoting joint activities of benefit to both parties, mainly in issues related to energy and water efficiency.
The countries will also exchange equipment, new technologies and services for the sector, according to the ministry.
"Australia has already invested US$2.8mn in the Chilean mining sector, which represents 10% of total investments to date," de Solminihac said.
