Essap, Asunción ink deal to address damaged pipelines, roads

Paraguayan state water utility Essap has signed a contract with the government of capital Asunción to draw up a strategy to address damaged pipelines and roads in the city, daily Última Hora reported.

One of the projects will involve repairing drainage pipelines and the España road between streets Brasilia and Santa Rosa, as well as Santa Teresa street and adjacent roads Molas López, Aviadores del Chaco, Julio Correa and General Santos.

The entities will also aim to reduce water losses in the city by 50%, according to Essap president Emiliano Insfrán.
