Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez has signed an order to launch work on the General Pueyrredon urban solid waste disposal center in city Mar del Plata, with total investment reaching 80mn pesos (US$20.1mn).
Partial financing for the project will come from the World Bank's International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), according to a presidential release.
The funding will support the design and construction of the plant and its maintenance over three years, as well as studies for its closure.
Work will be carried out by Tecsan Ingenieria Ambiental and Ingenieria y Asistencia Tecnica Argentina (latasa).
